Ambassador for Christ!

Daily Devotional Guide – 2 Corinthians 5

READ – “So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”  2 Corinthians 5:20 NLT

EXAMINE – Paul identifies himself as an ambassador of Christ. Most people nowadays have a perception of what an ambassador is; they are high ranking officials representing governments in different areas of the world. This helps us appreciate the magnitude of Paul’s claim. He is Christ’s mouthpiece to the world. He does not act on his own authority but under the commission of a greater power and authority who sent him. Paul understands himself to be divinely authorized to announce to the world God’s terms for peace.

APPLY – What a privilege to be an ambassador for Christ; this position we have was purchased by the blood of Christ. Paul makes it clear previously in 2 Corinthians that all who surrender to Christ are new creations. This newness gives us the ability to represent God as ambassadors to the world. The Lord has chosen us to proclaim the Good news to all nations.

PRAY – Father God, thank you for choosing us to represent you to the nations    In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
