We Are Victorious!

Daily Devotional Guide – 1 Corinthians 15:57

READ –  “But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.”  1 Corinthians 15:57 NLT

EXAMINE – As Paul thinks about the work of Christ on behalf of those who would believe; he writes a brief doxology full of thanksgiving. Paul exhaustively describes the resurrection of Christ from the dead and emphatically describes why this is important for all believers. The fact that Jesus Christ was raised from the dead proves the truthfulness and reliability of God’s Word. More importantly, Christ’s resurrection gives His followers victory in this life and in the life to come. We have been given victory over death and will be resurrected to new life when we enter into His presence.

APPLY – Everyone wants to be victorious and loves to be on the winning team. We see this in sports; winning the championship is the ultimate sign of victory. Holding up the championship trophy at the end of a grueling season is what every team sets out to accomplish. The same is true in life; everyone wants to be a winner. Unfortunately, many choose the misleading methods of the world to define what winning is. There is good news for all who trust in Jesus. We have the Victory in Christ; that means we always win! Regardless of our circumstances in life, if we have a relationship with Christ, we are victorious!

PRAY – Father God, thank You for giving us the victory in Christ. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Live Your Life On Missions!

Daily Devotional Guide – Isaiah 12:4-5

READ – “Sing to the LORD, for He has done wonderful things. Make known His praise around the world.”  Isaiah 12:5 NLT

EXAMINE – Isaiah reminded the Jews of their obligation to sing to the LORD of their gratitude for all the wonderful things the LORD had done for them (Isaiah 12:4). The LORD had saved them from their enemies and brought deliverance to them. Also, the people were commanded to shout to the nations of the greatness of the LORD because of Who He is and what He has done. This was a wonderful day, and they should express it in every way from their attitude, to their appreciation even to their announcing it through songs.

APPLY – Today marks the end of the first half of this year. What a year it has been! As we bring Missions Month to a close, we are reminded that every day is Missions Day! Every day we should be On Missions for Jesus thanking God for our salvation, telling others about the Good News of Jesus, and touching the lives of others with kindness and good deeds. So today, be Open for Business!  Open your mouth and be a witness for Jesus. Open your hands and be a worker for Jesus in your blessing of others. Open your hearts and be a worshipper of Jesus through your singing.

PRAY – Father God, You have made this wonderful day for me and I choose to worship, witness and work for You! Use me for Your Glory!  In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
