Numbers 22:1 – 23:12
READ – “But Balaam replied, ‘I will speak only the message that the LORD puts in my mouth.” Numbers 23:12 NLT
EXAMINE – King Balak of Moab and his people were afraid of the great number of Israelites, (Numbers 22:1-4) so he sent a delegation to the false prophet Balaam to come and curse the people (Numbers 22:5-7). After spending the night and talking with God, the LORD told Balaam that he could not go, nor could he curse the people because they were blessed (Numbers 22:8-12). After a second delegation, Balaam was allowed to go but the Angel of the LORD would have killed Balaam if it wasn’t for the insight of his donkey (Numbers 22:21-34). When Balaam arrived and met King Balak, Balaam blessed the people instead of cursing the people (Numbers 23:1-12).
