We are excited that you have chosen to continue your learning experience by seeking higher education. The following instructions are provided to assist you in the application process:

  1. All applications must be completed online. 
  2. The following documents are required for ALL applicants.
    • College Transcript – (Unofficial copy)
    • Student Identification Number
    • Current college class schedule
    • EIE volunteer hours worksheet
  3. Additional documentation may be required upon aporoval
    For High School Graduates, these additional documents are required.
    • High School Transcript – (Unofficial copy)
    • College acceptance letter
  4. Application Deadlines – Fall Scholarship – 2nd Sunday in August

Spring Scholarship – 2nd Sunday in January

SCHOLARSHIP POLICY STATEMENT

The BMBC scholarship has been established to financially assist students who have been active members of Brown Missionary Baptist Church for a minimum of 6 months. Scholarship stipulations are listed below:

  1. Funds will not exceed $800 per calendar year.
    • $400 per semester for 12 credit hours (full-time) or more.
    • $200 per semester for 11 credit hours (part-time) or less.
  2. Student eligibility requirements are as follows.
    • High School graduate or GED completion.
    • Enrolled at a 2 or 4 year college or technical institution.
    • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 and be in good standing.
    • Unofficial copy of high school or college transcript
    • College acceptance letter – (HS graduates)
  3. Six hours of volunteer work per semester at BMBC or an approved offsite location(MANDATORY). Offsite volunteer hours must be approved by a BMBC Education ministry leader.
  4. Scholarship monies will be awarded directly to the school upon approval of application. STUDENTS SHOUD NOT DEPEND ON SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS FOR INITIAL REGISTRATION/TUITION FEES.
  5. Application must be submitted with all required documents. INCOMPLETE PACKETS WILL NOT BE PROCESSED.
  6. Scholarship recipients will be notified by a member of the Excellence in Education Ministry.
