The Ultimate Plan!

Esther 6:1-7

READ –  “So Haman came in, and the king said, “What should I do to honor a man who truly pleases me?” Haman thought to himself, “Whom would the king wish to honor more than me?” — Esther 6:6 NLT

EXAMINE – The king had trouble sleeping, so he ordered his attendants to bring him the book of his reign to read. (v.1) In the records, he read about how Mordecai had exposed the plot of the two eunuchs who guarded his door and had plotted to assassinate him. (v.2). He asked his attendants what reward or recognition Mordicai had received and they told him nothing. (v. 3). Haman had just arrived in the royal court to ask for Mordecai to be killed. The king heard someone outside his door in the court and inquired as to who it was and was told it was Haman.

APPLY –  Here again we find Haman thinking more highly of himself than others. With hatred and jealousy in his heart, he was coming to the king to request Mordecai’s head. Unknown to him, the king  instead was thinking of ways to honor Mordecai. God had his hand on Mordecai and the Jews throughout King Xerex’s reign. He put Mordecai in place to bring Esther to the temple, and Mordecai in place to save the King’s life, and in turn Queen Esther was placed in the palace to save the Jews! Look at God! Isaiah 55:8 says. “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts” says the Lord.  “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.” While Haman was planning and plotting one thing, God had already laid out the ultimate plan. In our own lives, we must realize God has a plan for us. Jeremiah tells us that God’s plans are to bless you and not harm you. As we go through life making decisions for where we will live, what job we work, who we will marry, and how many children we want to have, make sure we consult God first. In the end, all things work together for the good of them who love the Lord. God shall supply all our needs through His riches in Glory through Christ Jesus. He will not withhold anything from those who love Him.

PRAY –  Dear Heavenly Father, remind us to seek You first in all we do and we know that You will give us the desires of our hearts. Keep us rooted in Your Word because we know it is the anchor for our souls.  Lord, we know if we trust You and seek Your Kingdom first, all the other things we desire will be added onto us. Let Your word be a lamp unto our feet and a light for our pathway because we know we can do nothing without You, but with you all things are possible. This we ask in the matchless and powerful name of Jesus, thank God and Amen.
