“Jesus said, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you.”

What kind of difference is the Holy Spirit of God making in your daily life?

You may have heard confusing, even conflicting information about who the Spirit is and what He does.  You may feel disconnected from Him, even as you long to experience His dynamic presence and power.

Here is the practical help you’ve been looking for.  With clear, simple teaching straight from the Word of God, Tony Evans shows you how to intimately know the Holy Spirit–His fruit, His power, His guidance–for a life of victory and joy.”

Instructor: Beverly Harwell

“‘When we approach God humbly and bow down before Him, we put ourselves in a position to hear from Him.’

Are you longing to hear God’s voice, but feeling disconnected?

God wants to speak directly to each of His beloved children, not to just a few ‘spiritual elite.’ Priscilla Shirer looks at God’s call to Samuel and uncovers six characteristics essential for hearing from God:

  • A simple RELATIONSHIP, unfettered by sin or pride
  • A single-minded WORSHIP, focused on God and His glory
  • A set-apart HOLINESS, determined to live a life that honors Him
  • A still ATTENTIVENESS, willing to be silent before Him
  • A sold-out HUNGER, passionately pursuing God’s presence
  • A servant SPIRIT, submitted to God’s call

Her warmth and honesty, combined with a wealth of practical help, will inspire you to cultivate these traits in your own life. By doing so, you will prepare yourself to draw closer to Him and to hear His voice more clearly.”

“One of the greatest challenges among women in our culture is taking time to stop and cease from all the activities and busyness and just breathe. We are in bondage to busyness. We constantly strive to complete the limitless to-do lists that hinder us from experiencing all that God has for us. We miss the moments because we rush ahead to the next thing. By neglecting time for tranquility, serenity, and repose, we limit our Christlikeness and miss out on some of God’s greatest gifts. It is time for us to breathe and build margin into our lives for God. In the Old Testament, God instituted principles and laws that would transform the Israelites’ mindset. He didn’t just want them legally free; He wanted them to be able to walk in the freedom and enjoy it. So God gave them many gifts, including boundaries in which to enjoy those gifts. Sabbath was intended as a gift, and it is still a gift to us today. If you are weary, worn out, and exhausted the concept of Sabbath will change your life.”

Instructor: Janell Hankerson

“The biblical account of Joseph clearly demonstrates that God is at work even when life seems to be going wrong. It depicts a young man who endured betrayal, abandonment, injustice, and confusion before understanding God’s sovereign plan to redirect him from the pit to the palace. Even today it’s easy to wonder why God would allow calamity to happen or if He’s in control at all. Whether through uncontrollable circumstances or the pain of personal relationships, everyone has experienced unforeseen changes in life. This study helps believers navigate detours that may take you through trials, injustice, and even betrayal. You will be comforted and encouraged when you learn to rest in God’s redemptive plan and the hope found in God’s sovereign will.”

“The earthly crisis within manhood will be there until Jesus returns, but in Christ men are pointed toward the gospel as the vision for renewal. Manhood Restored by exciting new pastoral voice Eric Mason combines theological depth with practical insights, putting men in step with a gospel-centered manhood that will enrich every facet of their lives.Mason begins with The Scope of Manhood — looking first at why God created man, at the divine differences between man and woman, and what should drive the purpose of a man during his time on earth.

A section on The Problems in Manhood analyzes the false icons that lead to cultural caricatures of men — the businessman, the thug, the playboy, the athlete, etc. Mason then makes a connection to the cross-cultural fatherhood crisis, looking at the things men do to fill the void when their relationship with dad or God is not there.

Finally, The Redemption of Manhood sets Jesus as the true standard of biblical manhood, looking to his perfect example to redeem and restore a man’s life in the areas of sexuality, home, and work.”

“We live in a radically skeptical age. Tough questions are being asked about Christianity. And most believers are ill-equipped to provide the answers our culture and communities desperately need. Many in today’s church do not know the Bible as well as they should and they struggle with their own ‘big questions’ about the faith.

This study by Jeremiah J. Johnston provides precisely what the church needs today: tools and answers! It addresses several challenging topics, including mental health and suicide, paranormal activity, the resurrection, how we got the Bible, suffering, and why God is sometimes silent. The study will show you how to answer, how to explain, and how to respond in a deeply winsome and attractive way, as a thoughtful ambassador of Jesus. You will leave this study enriched, characterized by a thinking faith, capable to communicate confidently, and committed to escape the tendency to offer trite answers to a skeptical world.”

Instructor: Woodrie Hope

Instructor: Denise Martin

“The Apostles’ Creed was born from the apostles’ teachings. It contains essential doctrines and beliefs that summarize the gospel and the foundation of our faith. The scriptural truths contained in the creed enable us to build our Christian lives on good theology, with the knowledge that our faith is rooted in truth and a rich history.

The lines of the creed aren’t mere words. They are the essence of what we confess and believe. Repeating the creed doesn’t make disciples. Incantations don’t transform us into better, more effective Christians. Creeds don’t hold any authority apart from Scripture, but they do point outside themselves to the authoritative Word of God.

The Apostles’ Creed was traditionally used as a public confession before baptism. This confession of faith, given as a recitation of the creed, was understood as an act of turning away from previous pagan beliefs and fully accepting apostolic teaching. This profession identified new believers with the community of Christians.”

Instructor: Rev. Terrence Green

Do you have faith?  James, Jesus’ own brother, started out as a skeptic. See how one glimpse of the resurrected Savior turned an unbeliever into a disciple.  James forces us to face the implications of faith.  Be inspired to put your faith into action in practical ways as you get to know both the man and the Book of James.  This study will explore such concepts as joy, hardship, faith, wisdom, single-mindedness, dangers of the tongue, humility, prayer, and more.

In the Midst of the Storm There Is Purpose is a faith based teaching- study manual for equipping hearts, minds and souls in seasons of distress and turmoil.  This study manual is written in Hebrew- Greek terminology to bring the origin of the Truth out to the reader to make it practical without losing richness. These impartations are revealed and sent to empower the spirit and mind to greater height, depth and breadth in the power of Yahweh (God) in Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus Christ). Many times during the course of one’s life, we may experience crisis that has the capacity to take our breath and direction off range. Often, we may think we have it together; yet find out that we aren’t as quite together as we may have thought. This spiritual manual engages in the spiritual and natural aspects that anyone may experience, no matter the difference types of the storms; pain is pain. As you indulge your heart, spirit and mind will grasp what the Lord is overthrowing in the midst in order to bring you into divine destination, revelation, understanding, wisdom, restoration and supernatural spiritual maturity. Oftentimes, God is using the storm or the crisis to unfold His character from within us, expose the greatness of Himself from within us and to place us in a dimension of knowledge that supersedes what we once knew about Him and His power; He teaches through the storm how to maneuver and not be overcome by fear, doubt and despair. In this study manual the author writes from prophetic revelation, experiential experience and speaks what Yahweh in Christ Jesus has already declared to be established in this life for those of the household of faith. What is within is greater that that which has come. Throughout this study manual you will engage in prayer declarations, words of wisdom, words of knowledge and works studies, etc. This teaching- study manual takes the heart deeper into the deeper spiritual realities that Ruach Hakodesh (Holy Spirit) unfolds for the sons of God (no gender, spiritual). It is the Lord’s doing and it is Marvelous in the eyes of believers in Christ Jesus. The purpose and plan of the LORD God unlocks His promises concerning those that will believe and trust Him in spite of the pain. This manual brings deliverance to you at the level of abounding grace; the favor of Yahweh.”

Instructor: Josephine Starnes (This class meets at 10:30 A.M. at the Main Campus)

“Have Christians grown accustomed to those who defame the Church? Whether it’s a best-selling author who claims “religion poisons everything” or an atheist comedian whose punch lines aren’t hassled by the burden of proof, foes of the faith continue to declare Christianity morally deficient without much resistance.

In Moral Apologetics for Contemporary Christians, Mark Coppenger mixes compelling references—from classic philosophers to modern entertainers—to reasonably push back against both harsh critics and less intense cultural relativists, contending that Christianity is morally superior to its competitors as well as true.

Coppenger doesn’t avoid uncomfortable realities like the misbehavior of many Christians and false teachers, but he sets the book’s course in defense of his faith with evidence that a Christian approach to life makes people and societies flourish, while those who turn their backs on genuine Christianity are more liable to behave wickedly.”

Instructor: Rev. Willie Petty

“Misconceptions about God abound. But they don’t have to. God has revealed His character in Scripture, illuminating the attributes that define Him. While we, being finite creatures, can never truly comprehend everything that God is, we should study what He Himself has said.

In this 16-part teaching series, The Attributes of God, Ligonier Teaching Fellow Dr. Steven Lawson articulates a biblical understanding of divine attributes and explores how a right understanding of God can affect every aspect of our lives.”

Instructor: Artis Taylor

“Other people don’t truly understand how tough it is to be a single parent—day after day after day. Sometimes you want to give up. And that’s a normal reaction—you’re doing the job of two people. You should be tired.

The thing is, you deeply desire to do what’s best for your kids, but you worry that you can’t. Sometimes it’s all you can do to survive from one day to the next.”

Through Single & Parenting you’ll discover how to deal with your deep-down worries and your day-to-day struggles.

Each session contains videos featuring:

  • Life-changing teaching from counselors and professionals who have been, or who work with, single parents
  • Single parents who’ve faced parenting dilemmas and share the solutions they found
  • Demos on how to handle tough situations with your kids

“Between sessions, you get the chance to apply the strategies to your daily life. Short, daily workbook exercises help you adjust the tips to work for you. Whatever your struggles—kids, discipline, exhaustion, money, ex-partner, depression, anger—the workbook helps you address the situation at its source.”
