Senior Associate Pastor
Rev. Derrick Anderson, born December 10, 1984, is the youngest son of William and Brenda Anderson. He is happily married to Chynika Anderson. He is a 2003 Graduate of Whitehaven High School. While at Whitehaven, he served in numerous leadership roles including the Memphis City Schools Student Advisory Board, Tennessee Association of Student Council West Tennessee Representative, President of Student Council, and Vice President of Fellowship of Christian Students.
Rev. Anderson is a graduate of Union University. He studied Organizational Leadership and Biblical Studies. He served in various leadership roles at Union including, Student Government, Student Senate, and Executive Council member and co-founder of Common Ground (minority organization). He is also the first African American male Ambassador for the University. In Jackson Tennessee, Derrick served as a mentor for urban youth through Evangelic Community Church. Rev. Anderson completed his Masters in Organizational Leadership at Luther Rice University in Lithonia, Georgia.
Rev. Derrick additionally volunteers with the Shelby County Sheriff Department. Rev. Derrick Anderson accepted the call by God to preach the gospel in March of 2003 at Brown Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Bartholomew Orr. Derrick was licensed October 3, 2004 and Ordained December 17, 2006 at Brown Missionary Baptist Church.
Pastor Anderson’s Scope of Responsibility:
In the absence of Pastor Orr, he is responsible for the teaching and preaching. His daily responsibilities are to assist in the Pastoral Ministries. He is responsible for Operations and Administration along with assisting with Membership Services
